BLANCHED BROCCOLI AND CARROTS WITH TOASTED SESAME SEEDS
 
Broccoli, cut into flowerets
carrots, sliced on the diagonal
toasted sesame seeds

 

Bring a good size pot filled with spring or filtered water to a boil. Add a few of the carrots to the water, removing them before the water once again returns to a full boil. Allow the water to again return to a boil and continue to blanch the rest of the vegetables in the same manner. When finished arrange on a platter and sprinkle, generously, with the sesame seeds which have been carefully toasted in a skillet.
